Robert ("Bob") L. Hines currently serves as the Vice President, General Counsel & Energy Director for the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Prior to joining the Leadership Group, he was the Worldwide Government Affairs Senior Manager for Solectron, a multinational contract manufacturer of high tech equipment and components with over $15 billion in annual sales.

In addition, Bob has held a number of other positions that draw on his extensive political background and strong public policy expertise. He was the Vice President for Public Policy & Communications for San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce. Previously, he served as the Government Affairs Director and later as the CEO for the Tri-County Apartment Association, one of the largest regional trade associations representing the apartment industry and multi-family housing builders in the Bay Area. From 1994 to 2000, Bob was the Chief of Staff for California Assemblyman Jim Cunneen (R-San Jose). He served as a Captain, U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He has a B.A. with Honors in Economics and Political Science from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a law degree from the University of Virginia School Of Law – Charlottesville. He is admitted to the California Bar.
